Overview

The Alanya city and cable car tour lets you see the town at street level and from above, in the best light of the day. You are collected from your hotel in the afternoon by open-top bus and driven along the shore to the Damlataş area.

After your guide's introduction there is 45 minutes of free time: swim, shop, or visit the Damlataş Cave (cave entry is not included). Then the cable car climbs to Alanya Castle. The 900-metre line rises to some 300 metres, opening a panorama over the peninsula, the harbour and Cleopatra Beach.

After exploring the historic sites at the castle you ride back down and stop for photos at the I LOVE ALANYA viewpoint. The tour ends with your hotel drop-off around 20:30 — exactly the right window to watch the sun go down from the hill.

Is the cable car ticket included?

Yes, the return cable car ticket is included in the tour price. The only entry not covered is Damlataş Cave, and visiting it is entirely optional.

Why does the tour start in the afternoon?

A 17:00 start means you reach the castle as the light softens. The heat is easier to handle and the views and photographs are far better in the sunset light.

Is there a lot of walking?

The climb is done by cable car, so there is no uphill hike. Inside the castle there is a moderate amount of walking on stone ground — comfortable shoes are recommended.
