Overview

The Alanya buggy safari is a half-day adventure on dirt and mud tracks in the forested foothills of the Taurus Mountains. What sets a buggy apart from a quad is the seating: you sit side by side, with seat belts and a roll cage — which makes it the better choice for couples and families.

You are collected from your hotel and taken to the safari base. The guide gives a driving and safety briefing, and a short test drive lets you get used to the vehicle. Then the convoy sets off; during roughly two hours of driving there is a rest and a short swim stop. Along the route there is a photo stop at the historic Alarahan caravanserai.

No licence is needed and the vehicles are automatic. A four-seat family buggy can be requested (at extra cost). The tour runs twice a day: 08:30-12:30 and 14:30-18:30. Dust and mud come with the territory — wear clothes and closed shoes you don't mind dirtying, and bring sunglasses and a bandana.

If you want to ride solo with a sportier feel, choose the ATV; if you want to sit side by side with your partner, friend or child, belted in, choose the buggy. Buggies have a roll cage and there is a four-seat family option.

Can I ride together with my child?

The buggy suits this: you drive and your child sits beside you with a seat belt. A four-seat family buggy can also be requested at extra cost. For age suitability, add a booking note and we will confirm with the operator.

Is it really muddy?

Yes — part of the track is deliberately watered and you drive through mud. It is considered the most fun part, but your clothes will get dirty; bringing a change is a good idea.
