Overview

Tazı Canyon is the most striking viewpoint in Köprülü Canyon National Park: you look down at the river from the top of vertical walls more than 400 metres high. It lies 130 km from Alanya, and this tour is the most practical way to see the area in a day.

You are collected around 08:00 in an air-conditioned coach. Once the mountain road begins you switch to open-top buses — this is where the real scenery starts. The first stop is the historic Roman bridge in Köprülü Canyon, then you climb to the canyon viewpoint.

Lunch is served by the river (chicken with rice or pasta, and salad). In the afternoon you visit Selge ancient city and the rock figures — natural erosion formations that resemble human silhouettes. You are back at your hotel around 18:30.

The tour runs three days a week: Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Is the cliff edge safe? I am afraid of heights

How close you go to the edge is entirely up to you. The view works from further back too, and the guide never pushes the group towards the drop. Guests with a fear of heights usually take their photos from the safer setback.

Is this the same area as the rafting tour?

Yes, both are in Köprülü Canyon National Park. But rafting is a day spent in the water on the river, while the Tazı Canyon tour shows the canyon from above and adds historic sites. Doing both on one holiday does not feel repetitive.
