Overview

The view that best explains Alanya is the one from above: the castle on the tip of the peninsula, the curved Cleopatra coastline and the Mediterranean running to the horizon. Paragliding is the only way to keep that view beneath your feet for 15-20 minutes.

No experience is needed — the flight is tandem: a professional pilot behind you, you in front. You are collected from your hotel, taken to the station and then driven about 25 minutes up to Yassı Hill at 800 metres. The pilot runs through the safety briefing, you take a few running steps and the ground simply slides away.

After the 15-20 minute flight you land at the station by the shore, where you can watch — and, if you wish, buy — the photos and videos taken with a professional camera during the flight (extra). Then you are driven back to your hotel.

The hours are flexible: flights run 09:00-17:00 and you pick your slot when booking. The minimum age is 5 and the weight limit is 125 kg. Flights depend on the wind; if conditions are unsuitable, the flight is rescheduled or refunded.

I have no experience — should I be scared?

The pilot has full control; your only job is a few running steps at take-off and enjoying the view. The flight feels far calmer than most people expect — no falling sensation, just a soft glide. The most nervous moment is usually the wait before take-off; once airborne, everyone relaxes.

When do flights get cancelled?

Weather is the only decider — above all the wind's direction and strength. Pilots never fly outside the safe range. If cancelled, the flight is moved to another day; if no suitable day works, your money is refunded.

Can I film with my own phone during the flight?

It is discouraged for safety — a dropped phone is both lost and a risk to people below, and some pilots do not allow it. The flight is filmed anyway with the pilot's professional camera; you watch it after landing and buy it only if you like it.
