Overview

The Alanya scuba diving tour is a day built for people who have never dived before. You are collected from your hotel around 08:00 and taken to Okurcalar harbour, 30 km from Alanya, and from there onto the dive boat.

On board the instructors first explain the equipment and safety procedures; gear is provided, though you may bring your own if you prefer. The first dive takes place off Turtle Island with an instructor at your side. Lunch is then served on board (drinks are extra).

The second dive is at the spot most guests describe as "like an aquarium" — the area with the densest fish life. Between dives there is time to sunbathe, snorkel and rest. Photos and video are taken underwater (buying them is optional and not included in the price). You are back at your hotel around 16:30.

No swimming ability is required — first-time divers go down safely with an instructor. Children aged 0-7 cannot dive; they and non-diving companions join the boat at a reduced rate.

I have never dived before — can I join?

Yes — the tour is designed for first-time divers. No certificate is needed. The instructor briefs you on board and stays with you underwater. You do not need to be able to swim.

Can children dive?

Children aged 0-7 are not allowed to dive. They and any non-diving companions can join the boat at a reduced rate and enjoy swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing all day.

How deep do the dives go?

Introductory dives stay at shallow depths; the aim is not depth but the zone where coral and fish are densest. The exact depth is decided by the instructor based on the day's conditions and on you.
