Overview

This tour shows Green Canyon from land and water together. You are collected from your hotel around 08:30 in an open-top (cabrio) bus — you feel the wind and the landscape directly rather than through a coach window.

The first stop is the Lion Park (zoo); the entrance ticket is not included in the tour price and the visit is optional. Next comes the fruit garden of the Gözleme House in Oymapınar village: a break among orange, lemon and pomegranate trees (gözleme and drinks are extra). Photo stops follow at Green Lake, the Oymapınar Dam and the Green Canyon Terrace.

The water part of the day is a one-hour catamaran trip into the canyon, with the option to swim. Lunch is at the restaurant on Green Lake (included), and around the meal there is time for swimming, sunbathing and fishing. You are back at your hotel around 18:00.

If you would rather spend the day on the water and cruise both canyons end to end, look at the Green Canyon Tour — its boat time is far longer.

How does it differ from the Green Canyon Tour?

The Green Canyon Tour is a boat trip: most of the day is on the water and both canyons are cruised end to end. This one is a land safari: open-top bus, Lion Park, fruit garden and viewpoints dominate, with one hour spent on the boat.

Why is the Lion Park ticket not included?

The visit is optional, so the ticket is not built into the price; guests who prefer not to enter can rest outside during that time. Bring cash if you would like to go in.

Is the sun a problem on the open-top bus?

In midsummer it can be. Bring a hat and sunscreen; the vehicle has shaded sections, but part of the route runs in full sun.
