Overview
Sapadere Canyon lies about 45 km from Alanya, hidden inside the Taurus Mountains. A 600-metre wooden walkway runs through the gorge, just above ice-cold water rushing between the rocks, and ends at an impressive waterfall.
You are collected from your hotel by jeep around 09:00. On the way there is a photo stop in the Taurus and a visit to a banana garden. Along the forest road a half-hour swim stop is made beside a 2,000-year-old Roman bridge. Then comes Sapadere village and a look at village life.
The canyon walk passes three waterfalls, and you can get into the water to cool off — be warned, it is genuinely cold. The route also includes the Dwarfs' Cave (cave entry is not included in the price). Lunch is served at the village restaurant (fish or chicken with rice and salad), where swimming is possible too. You are back at your hotel around 16:00.

Is the canyon walk difficult?
No. The walk follows a wooden platform along the gorge — there is no climbing and the distance is 600 metres. The surface can be wet, so non-slip shoes are recommended.
Is the water really that cold?
Yes. The canyon water comes from mountain springs and stays icy even in midsummer. A quick dip is the most enjoyable approach — staying in long is hard going.
Do I have to enter the Dwarfs' Cave?
No, it is entirely optional and the entry is not included in the tour price. Bring cash if you would like to go in.
